Volunteer Hours:
As a reminder, each LVSC family is responsible for 10 volunteer hours every 6 months. 10 hours must be completed during the January – June time period and then again from July through December. Any hours not completed will be charged at a $25 per hour rate at the end of the six months. ** If any family is interested in paying a discounted rate of $200 at the beginning of any six- month period, they will receive credit for all 10 hours and will not be required to complete any physical hours for that 6- month time period. Please email [email protected] for more information or to set up your payment.
** LVSC will be hosting the Frosty Fling Meet on Saturday December 2nd. This is a great opportunity to complete any hours your family may be missing before the end of the year. Please watch for the job sign- up to be sent out soon!
Non- Swimming Achievements and Accomplishments:
LVSC’s goal is to create healthy, well- rounded, creative, and positive swimmers who excel not only in the water but in the community as well. In each newsletter, we hope to highlight swimmers who have been recognized for their achievements outside of the pool. If your swimmer has an accomplishment you would like highlighted in the next newsletter, please email [email protected]. Examples: academic honor roll, scholarships, citizen or community involvement awards, other athletic or sports awards/ medals/ recognitions.

LVSC Annual Awards Banquet:
The 2024 annual team awards banquet will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at the Suncoast Hotel and Resort. Please mark your calendars for a fun night filled with dancing, food, friends, and swimmer recognition.
Suggestions/ Questions/ Ideas for the Board:
LVSC is continually working on creating a positive, inclusive, and welcoming team environment and we always encourage our families to become active and involved. If you have any suggestions, questions, or ideas that you would like heard/ discussed at any of our monthly board meetings, please email or speak to any board member. We will address and discuss all inquiries at our regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
Dryland:
Increasing swimmer dryland attendance, focus, and commitment has been a goal in 2023 that we are excited to continue striving towards in 2024! We know that the dedication and work our swimmers’ put into their dryland training will strengthen their confidence, ability, and endurance in the water!
USA Swimming Registration Renewal:
As a reminder, USA swimming registration is now open for 2024. All swimmers need to have their memberships renewed before December 31, 2023. Most swimmers who joined the team after August 2023 should already be registered for 2024, but if you are unsure, you can email Alana Dawidian to confirm. For any returning LVSC families, please log into your USA swimming account, click on renew membership(s), and follow the step. Please reach out to Alana Dawidian or any board member with any questions.
New Team Store Partnership:
Thank you to all of our families who attended our Speedo Launch event and who have visited/ purchased from our new online team store, Competitive Aquatic Supply. We are excited to continue partnering with Speedo and for all of our team supplies to now be easily purchased through Competitive Aquatic Supply. You can access the team store directly from our team unify site, or visit the Competitive Aquatic Supply website chose team stores LVSC. All speedo items purchased through the site have a 20% built in discount. As we continue to expand our team offerings, you will be able to purchase suits, parkas, gear bags, practice equipment such as fins and kick boards, team warm- ups and sweatshirts, and the occasional specialty item.
Swim – A – Thon:
Thank you to our families, sponsors, and volunteers for making our annual swim- a- thon such a huge success. We were able to meet and exceed our $ 25,000 goal! All funds raised will go towards the annual team banquet, pool rental space, championship qualifier teams and caps, new training equipment, and team sponsored social events. A special thanks to Hilary Moorhead, Melissa McCabe and Caron Olsen for the tremendous amount of time and effort they devoted to ensuring the events success.
Nevada State Championships:
Congratulations to our 99 swimmers who competed at the 2023 Nevada State Championships! We had some outstanding swims and made lots of great memories! Be on the lookout for a full- recap of event winners and outstanding performances in the next newsletter!
