Welcome To The Team:

                  We would like to extend a warm welcome to the following swimmers who recently joined LVSC.  Please make an effort to say hi if you see these swimmers or their families on deck and welcome them to the team.

Volunteer Hours:

                  As a reminder, each LVSC family is responsible for 10 volunteer hours every 6 months.  10 hours must be completed from January - June and then again from July – December.  Any hours not completed will be charged at a rate of $ 25 per hour at the end of the six months.  ** If any family is interested in paying a discounted rate of $200 at the beginning of any six- month period, they will receive credit for all 10 hours and will not be required to complete any physical hours for that 6- month time frame.  Please email [email protected] for more information or to set up your payment. 

Non- Swimming Achievements and Accomplishments:

                  LVSC’s goal is to create healthy, well- rounded, creative, and positive swimmers who excel not only in the water but in the community as well.  In each newsletter, we hope to highlight swimmers who have been recognized for their achievements outside of the pool.  If your swimmer has an accomplishment you would like highlighted in the next newsletter, please email [email protected].  Examples: academic honor roll, scholarships, citizen or community involvement awards, other athletic or sports awards/ medals/ recognitions.

Suggestions/ Questions/ Ideas for the Board:

                  LVSC is continually working on creating a positive, inclusive, and welcoming team environment and we always encourage our families to become active and involved.  If you have any suggestions, questions, or ideas that you would like heard/ discussed at any of our monthly board meetings, please email or speak to any board member.  We will address and discuss all inquiries at our regularly scheduled monthly meetings.

Dryland:

                  Increasing swimmer dryland attendance, focus, and commitment is a goal we are continuing to strive towards in 2024!  We know that the dedication and work our swimmers’ put into their dryland training will strengthen their confidence, ability, and endurance in the water! 

Competitive Aquatic Supply and Speedo Partnership:

Reminder, you can now purchase all of your LVSC team apparel, equipment, competition suits, and more directly from Competitive Aquatic Supply.  You can access the team store directly from our team unify website, or visit the Competitive Aquatic Supply website ... chose team stores ...LVSC.  All speedo items purchased through the site have a 20% built in discount.   ** Speedo representatives will also be on site during our annual Swim- A- Thon on Friday September 27th for team suit, parks, and tech suit fittings.

Annual Financial Meeting:

                  We will be holding our annual financial meeting on Monday July 22nd at 6:00pm at the Vistas Community Events Center in Summerlin.  All LVSC families who attend will receive 1 “volunteer hour.”  We additionally hope to have a zoom link available for any families unable to attend in person.  This meeting will focus on the current state of team financials, including; positives, negatives, expenses, profits, fundraising, and goals for the upcoming season.  Please RSVP via the LVSC team unify events page if you are planning on attending.

Upcoming College Swimming Information Meeting:

                  LVSC will be hosting a college swimming informational meeting this Monday, July 22nd at 6:45 pm at the Vista Community Events Center in Summerlin.  All LVSC swimmers and their families who are interested in learning more about college swimming are invited and welcome to attend, however, any incoming 8th grade, or high school students are strongly encouraged.  Current and former LVSC swimmers and LVSC coaches will discuss their recruitment experiences, the day- to- day life of a college athlete, what to expect from the recruitment process, what coaches are “looking for” in potential athletes, the different levels of college swimming, and will do their best to answer any questions attendees may have. Please rsvp via the LVSC team unify events page if you are planning to attend. ** We are anticipating recording the presentation and making it available on the website for those unable to attend.

Cowabunga Bay End of the Season Social:

                  LVSC will host its end of the season social at Cowabunga Bay on Saturday August 10th, 2024.  All LVSC swimmer’s entry tickets will be covered by LVSC.  LVSC will also be providing food and drinks at the connecting park prior to water park entrance for all swimmers and their immediate families.  Tickets for entrance into the Cowabunga Bay will be $25 for all non- swimmers.  Please RSVP on the LVSC team unify events page with the number of swimmers planning to attend and also the number of additional tickets you would like to purchase (LVSC will charge all member accounts after the social).

Olympic Trials Recap:

                  Thank you to all of our amazing LVSC families who attended the trials in Indianapolis.  Also, thank you to all of our amazing LVSC families who were cheering and supporting from Vegas!  Congratulations to Max, the National group, Coach, and Coach Amber on an amazing accomplishment and representing LVSC on the International stage!
